I enjoy packaging and label design immensely but don’t get to do either quite as often as I’d prefer. Handmade products, such as soap or sewn goods, scream out as fantastic opportunities for experimentation.
So, what do I do when I don’t have clients needing soap labels? I learn to make my own soap.
I dived headfirst into the art of saponification, learning about cold process vs. melt-and-pour, about lye usage, molds, aromatic oils, colors, micas, and every other aspect over a weekend.
The result is what you see here: batches of tasty soap complete with hand assembled packaging.
